President’s Award Program & Sukuma Scholars: The Academy
Typically, the Academy is a fun and interactive one-day session that will share information regarding the President’s Award Program scholarship requirements, policies and expectations. This year, students will be participating in the Academy via Blackboard. There, students will be introduced to concepts, resources and skills necessary for successful learning in higher education which will help to facilitate adjustment and engagement into a new learning environment, the research university. Students will virtually meet faculty and staff who will share strategies for success in college! Please carefully read this entire webpage!
You are expected to complete the Blackboard course on your own time by the deadline. There are some dates that will require your virtual attendance such as the Scholars Overview and Summer College Lecture Day. Attending those events may require Zoom participation, more information will be provided via email. Attendance is mandatory to maintain scholarship eligibility.
