Summer Enrichment Physics Workshop

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Preparatory Physics teaches students the problem-solving techniques and analytical skills needed to succeed in PHYS 141, the first course in the calculus-based sequence.  The content covered includes essential subjects of kinematics, vectors, and forces – topics which will be used throughout many physics and engineering classes at UIC.

PROGRAM DAYS AND TIMES

Monday and Wednesday
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm 

FIRST DAY

On the first day of workshop, please check in at the Writing Center on the first floor of Grant Hall, located at 703 S. Morgan, thirty minutes before your scheduled class time. We will have signs posted to help you find Grant Hall. At the Writing Center, we will introduce you to your instructor, help you find your classroom, and give you your course materials. Be sure to bring a notebook and pen.

 

WHO SHOULD REGISTER?

Students who have not placed into physics 100, but would like to skip this class and go directly to Physics 141.  Students registering should also be comfortable with algebra and basic trigonometry.
