Campus Housing : Learning Beyond the Classroom

Program Description

Campus Housing is dedicated to providing residents with an educational advantage—both in and out of the classroom. In addition to providing the opportunity to live on campus for Summer College, students who are interested can participate in this program that addresses issues such as: healthy relationships and communicating across differences, financial literacy and career development, healthy independent living skills, engaging with your learning and getting the most out of your university environment, dispelling common myths and misconceptions about college and evaluating evidence in an academic setting.  The program will take place in the evenings during Summer College, with occasional excursions into the city to explore living downtown.  Students who successfully complete the program are eligible for rebates of up to $600 each on both Summer College Housing expenses and academic year Housing contracts.  Availability is limited to 20 participants and certain restrictions apply.  Living on campus (during Summer College or for the upcoming year) is not required to participate in the program, but strongly encouraged, and preference will be given to those who do.  Students who are interested in Housing during Summer College should sign up for housing at: housing.uic.edu
